Baker Lake is surrounded by magnificent rolling tundra - home to caribou and muskoxen - and several large navigable rivers. The Hamlet of Baker Lake is located on the lake’s northwest shore, near the mouth of the Thelon River. It is 320 kilometres inland from the west coast of the Hudson Bay. Baker Lake has four designated conservation areas, including: Kazan & Thelon Rivers - Canadian Heritage Rivers Thelon Wildlife Sanctuary Fall Caribou Crossing National Historic Site Ukkusiksalik National Park at Wager Bay |
